Appearance: Besides the slightly dramatic outfit, one thing that may jump out about Kaitlyn, is her skin is deathly pale, as if her body were abnormally cold. (Anyone who touches her will realize that's because she is abnormally cold.)
Vibes: When not 'working', Kaitlyn favors expressive, theatrical motions. She moves around quite a bit, especially when energized. Also, she really hates hot weather.
Interests: Games, comforts, and stuff that is 'Conceptually connected to Winter'.
Sensitive Topics: She tends to react poorly to stuff that is 'Conceptually connected to Summer', and to people being violent or abusive pointlessly.

Backstory tl;dr: Got isekai'd into an endless dungeon plane, took Winter powers and favored a skirmishy style.

Powers tl;dr: Create ice blades, climb walls and such by 'freezing' herself to them, sneaky especially in snow, high-human fitness emphasizing mobility and speed, swimming, bag of holding. Conceptual 'affinity' to Winter, anti-affinity to 'Summer' - which can connect to objects or places.

IC Permissions:

▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION:
Hugs will draw awkward from her due to her cold body; other actions OOC'ly encouraged but IC'ly expect her to kinda panic a bit.
▶ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Expect her to fight back.
▶ RELATIONSHIPS: Friendships, Love (gay), and some awkwardness good.
▶ PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Ask OOC permission. IC'ly, not likely to be highly resistant. With OOC permission, potentially vulnerable to mental influence stuff.
▶ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Body registers as inherently magical, as does her bodysuit, bag, and 'slate' (see app).
▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Seems in great health in spite of a low body temperature; very fit, built for dexterity.
▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: IC'ly few triggers. OOC'ly, fourth-walling of 'character talking to player' has caused some dissociative stuff.

OOC Permissions:
▶ BACKTAGGING: Love it.
▶ THREADHOPPING: Go for it (but help me keep track please).
▶ FOURTHWALLING: Generally limited; don't 'read her canon' or otherwise treat her as fictional, and characters do not talk to the player (see above). Exception for gagtags and shitposts that aren't meant to be IC.
▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Relatively few.
▶ ANYTHING ELSE? Bring forth the mayhem!!!

IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Kaitlyn Saunders
AU or OU: OU
Canon: OC
Canon Point: Kaitlyn has survived one year as a 'Chosen', becoming aligned to Winter and having trained herself as a skirmisher. She was almost getting comfortable with the premise of dealing with the wildspaces when she got pulled to this world and its entirely different rules.
Character Age: 22
OU Backstory:
Kaitlyn Saunders is from an alternate Earth timeline, where an extradimensional 'dungeon' took form some decades past, and occasionally 'Chooses' people, dragging them within and binding them to acquire 'Color' from the (mostly) aggressive-minded denizens within - required to survive, but also 'investible' to grant themselves powers. 'Chosen' can return to Earth, but only for short periods of time (so basically vacations).

There are beings within the dungeon that are friendly to the 'visitors', known as 'Patrons'; their blessing opens options for what Chosen can invest 'Color' into, often in the form of full-on magic. Kaitlyn took a blessing from The Foxybara, a Patron of Winter with (self-proclaimed) "coolness of fox, chill of Capybara". This meant the magics she could learn connected to Winter themes... With side effects like 'body unusually cold', 'white hair', and 'cannot stand Summer conditions' (which has some metaphorical components - a hot spring is perfectly fine for example). It also meant that she had something like a home in one of the safe areas of the dungeon known as 'Cities'.

Kaitlyn's slight build led her to favor 'skirmisher' techniques - climbing walls, concealment (especially in snow), and forming blades of ice to fight with have been enough to go into 'wildspaces' and survive... But not to get particularly far on the 'goal of the Chosen' - getting deeper into the dungeon to discover its true nature.

TL;DR: Got Isekai'd into an endless dungeon, took a deal with a relaxed foxgirl for ice powers, was handling herself more or less okay before she wound up here.

Powers and Abilities:
Chosen: All Chosen are, normally, bound to the Dungeon. They can only leave for short periods of time. Take a portal to Earth? You'll be vwoop'd back in a week, less if you've been over lately. Die? You'll respawn in a few days, little the worse for wear. Chosen also are dependent on 'Color' - something between an addiction and a physical need. 'Color' is gained by exploring dungeon areas, fighting creatures within, and attaining loot... Simply put, adventuring. All of these properties have been negated by getting pulled here, and Kaitlyn is aware of this.

The good news is that Color gained isn't consumed directly (a Chosen just needs to keep pursuing it), and instead can be 'invested' into enhancements, powers, magic items, and the like. Developed enhancements can be enhanced to some degree through use, but flat-out new abilities require Color... And right now, Kaitlyn doesn't have any.

... Of Winter: Kaitlyn chose to take a deal with a Patron of Winter. This opened up options that thematically connect to Winter for her to invest 'Color' into, but also produced side effects that are immediately visible on her body - the paleness of her skin is because her body literally runs far colder than it should. It also means that things that thematically connect to Summer are naturally uncomfortable for her, though this isn't a dire vulnerability so much as 'heat sucks'. ("Winterly" heats like hot springs and hearths don't impact her as much. "Summerly" heats like volcanoes impact her even in literal Winter.)

Skirmisher Focus: Kaitlyn theoretically could have chosen to pursue a 'Frost Giant' type routine of big, powerful weapons and a big, powerful form. However, she instead favored a 'skirmisher'/'rogue' esque style with her investments. Besides being dextrous and quick (though not superhumanly so), she can generate blades of ice to throw or fight in melee with ("No, I am not using snowflakes as shuriken!"), 'stick' to walls as if frozen to them, and camoflauge herself (particularly in snowy conditions) - all well-suited to her primary working method of sneaking around, surprising foes or just taking her goal from right under their noses.

Swimming: Kaitlyn also specifically invested in being an excellent swimmer and capable of holding her breath for ten minutes. This gives her one safe refuge when it's literal summer, for one.

Magic Items: She invested in a few...
- Kaitlyn's bodysuit is magically toughened, protecting her on par with decent chainmail while being super-light and flexible.
- Her messenger bag is a 'Handy Haversack' - capable of holding a literal-metric ton of stuff, and always having whatever she wants to pull out right on top. (It also has several normal pockets, which she admits are entirely unnecessary given she can just shove everything in the main pocket and have the perfect thing on top, but it's comfy okay???) The items inside as of when she got pulled in centered around camping relatively comfortably (shelter, tools, food, drink, first-aid kit, etc.), clothing, and some choice Earth-tech items (including a solar panel). No single item can be more than a single cubic foot in size nor more than four feet in length unless compressible.
- Her 'slate' looks like a perfectly rectangular obsidian chunk. When in her hand, it glows with a symbol that matches on on the back of her hand, then opens 'menus'. This is how she can invest Color, automap spaces in the dungeon, and a few other things. It's basically useless here - the automap doesn't work.

Desired Faction: Kaitlyn would lean toward Flotsam as her primary faction - she's already used to the 'independent loot-centric' lifestyle, what with having to travel long distances to pursue resources. Elysium would be her second choice - her techniques of sneaking being of obvious value in the realm of intrigue. OOC'ly, I favor Elysium first, Flotsam second. Giant explosions terrify her, so no Vault plz.

SAMPLES

Sample one - including an idea of how her situation before getting picked up by the Corsairs might've gone.

As of time of writing, this has one five-comment thread. Soooooo....

Why do you wish to join the Crimson Corsairs?
"Where I'm from, there aren't a lot of clear-cut villains like the Empire is here. I fought because the nature of the space I was in demanded it. That demand doesn't apply here... But the skills and abilities still persist. I feel like it'd be wrong of me to not use them to take on something actually evil."

Why should the Crimson Corsairs allow you to join them?
"I'm preternaturally sneaky and quick, and I don't need a weapon to fight because I can create them when I need them. I also can swim for ten minutes underwater, and look good when the situation calls for it."

What is something you will lay down your life for?
"... Heh. That's a tricky one now. Back where I was, death wasn't final. Here, it is. I know I would lay down my life to protect someone or something I believed in."

How do you handle orders from a superior officer?
"Honestly? This one's kinda new to me. Like, I was a theater kid before I became 'Chosen', you follow you director and you follow safety rules. But after that, I was largely on my own. So how I handle taking orders in the heat of combat? It's new enough to me that I will have to adjust to it. But I believe I will."

If a superior officer orders you to do something you believe is morally wrong, what would you do?
"... There's a lot of context to this one. A moral wrong to uphold a greater right is still wrong, but sometimes necessary. A moral wrong for its own sake, though? That I would either flat out refuse, or seek to undermine if I felt forced to."

When is it appropriate to take a life?
"Another one influenced by where I was before. Before, I essentially had to fight, the 'denizens' of the Dungeon had to fight, and death held no sway for either side. Here... I don't like the idea of being a casual killer. But the enemy is the enemy, and if it's me or them, I know what choice I'd favor."

Many Crimson Corsairs will die in the line of duty, how does that make you feel?
"... It hurts to think about, honestly. It makes me want to work to save as many as I can. I..."
Kaitlyn trails off entirely. She's not sure how she'll handle these kinds of losses anymore.

What are you willing to do to preserve the secrets of the Crimson Corsairs?
"As much as I would be willing to do to preserve the lives of the Crimson Corsairs... And from what I've seen, the two are the same thing with great frequency. In short... A lot."

What would you refuse to do in service of the Crimson Corsairs?
"If I felt the Corsairs or a portion thereof were just becoming like the Empire we fight - slavery, rape, all that - then I think I would turn on them very quickly. It's one thing to do that sort of thing to preserve your secret or the like. It's quite another if you're doing it for no point besides your horrid self-aggrandizement."

Many Crimson Corsairs must serve Imperials to preserve our cover and gather resources. How do you feel about this?
"... If that's what it took for the mission."

How well do you work with comrades? What can we expect from you when you are placed on a team?
"Liiiike I said before, I'm new to teamwork in the name of battle, but I have experience before that in theater, so I'd like to believe I can make it work."
